About NBAP
The New Brunswick Association of Planners (NBAP) regulates and maintains excellence in the practice of professional planning for the protection of the public in New Brunswick. "Planning” means the planning of the scientific, aesthetic and orderly disposition of land, with a view of securing physical, economic and social efficiency, health and well-being in urban and rural communities. MISSION To support and regulate professional planners in New Brunswick, serve and defend the public interest, promote and advocate on behalf of the planning professional and inspire excellence by improving community well-being. Registry
NBAP provides registrant services through partnership with the Atlantic Planners Institute (API), which acts as a secretariat to NBAP and the planning regulatory bodies in Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador. NBAP also contracts with the Professional Standards Board for the Planning Profession in Canada (PSB) to provide assessment services to support the certification process of registered professional planners. This includes assessment of eligibility of applications for candidate membership in NBAP, verification of mentorship and sponsorship work experience for candidate members, and delivery of courses and examinations leading to credentialing as a professional planner in accordance with the competency and ethics standards adopted by NBAP.
